Alopecia which is very much generally known as hair loss is seen in common among cats. Hair loss is usually partial or even complete hair loss. A partial form of hair loss can occur in a random way or symmetrical form as well. Why Do Cats Lose Hair?
Symptoms:
The most common reason for the hair in the case of cats is mainly alopecia. It can be in the form of patches or even all over the body. It may not leave bald patches initially but could start with certain changes like fuzzing, rough fur, or excessive shedding. It mainly depends on the causes of hair loss.
There are certain symptoms which can be in the form of red skin, blisters, itchiness as well as scratching, excessive grooming, easy bruising, a darkened form of patches seen on the skin, a foul form of odor, lethargy, depression, scaling, scabs are some the main symptoms of hair loss.
Reasons:
This can be even a sign of a disease called alopecia. This is a kind of infection, disorder, allergies, infestations, and even the case of cancer. In certain cases, the hair loss may also be due to improper development that may take place in the womb or even the case of hereditary disorders. Here are some of the reasons for their hair loss.
It can be due to fungal infections, burns, allergic reactions, hereditary, lack of nutrition, hormonal imbalance, birth defect, a bacterial form of infection, parasitic based infections, it can also be due to over-grooming, autoimmune based disorders, diabetes poison or even created by the mites, lice or fleas. It can also happen due to the treatments related to cancer or any tumors.
